'Leave The Light On' - A captivating rock track

Caitlyn released her first single in 2023, "Scarlet," a captivating rock track defined by its thunderous bassline and intense energy. Following the release of Scarlet, the Merseyside artist has attracted a respectable following for an artist with only three singles out. One thing that stands out substantially in this song is the class behind the consistent bass that is booming the whole way throughout; it becomes more dominant and powerful as the vocals reach outrageous heights. The songwriting in this song appears to be very meaningful to the artist. "You pick me up to let me down." This moving lyric conveys themes of disappointment and emotional turmoil. Caitlyn described the tune in this way. "The vocals mirror the emotional journey of the song, starting soft and vulnerable in the verses to convey the hurt and isolation. As the song builds into the pre-chorus, the intensity increases, and by the chorus, the vocals become loud and raspy, expressing anger and frustration—especially when questioning, "How does it feel?" This change in vocal delivery emphasises the raw emotion in the lyrics, with the raspy tone underscoring the pain and anger. The lyrics "How does it feel, my darling?" Now you're a star." question how it feels to be too busy or preoccupied for the relationship. In the chorus, the final line changes to "out in the dark," suggesting that while this person may feel successful and elevated now, they will eventually feel lost after losing the other person.".

We caught up with Caitlyn recently to discuss her new single, to which we asked, How would you describe "Leave The Light On" to people that are yet to hear it?, The Merseyside artist responded with "Leave The Light On," an emotionally charged song that blends vulnerability with intensity. It starts with soft, stripped-back verses, where gentle guitar and bass build tension. The vocals are delicate at first, expressing hurt and isolation, but as the song progresses, the drums, guitar, and bass intensify. By the chorus, the vocals become raspy and raw, amplifying the anger and frustration. Heavy drumbeats and distorted guitar drive the energy forward, while dramatic pauses add emphasis to key lyrics. The production creates a dynamic journey, from fragile moments to explosive emotional peaks, leaving a lasting emotional impact.
