Meet Harry Mckenny - A Merseyside Gem

Q - As an upcoming artist yourself, what advice would you give to any aspiring musicians?
Work hard, be nice to everyone, and enjoy it.
Q - What artists did you love when you were younger? Did any family members music taste shape/influence you?
Harry - Definitely. My Mum and Dad have a boss music taste. My earliest memories are being in ours or in the car listening to Oasis, Beady Eye. Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds, The Kooks, Two Door, Arctics, Weller, and so many more. Guitar music has always been with me since birth.
Q - What would be your dream venue to play?
Harry - This is such a hard question, but I'm going to say Bramley Moore Dock or the waterfront in Liverpool.
Q- If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?
Oasis. Easy!
Q - With much hype surrounding your unreleased music? When will we see your debut single?
Harry - Not dropping any hints! But hopefully we won't be waiting too long.
Q - Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration?
Harry - All different aspects of life, to be honest. I have a few songs written about experiences my friends are going through, my own experiences, and then some just come to you from nowhere!
Q - What motivates you to keep chasing that end goal? And what is the end goal for you?
Harry - I don't think there is an end goal. I just want everyone to hear my music; that's the goal. The motivation comes from music being 99% of my thoughts all day every day; it's the best.
Q - Do you have any routines you put into place before you go on stage?
Harry - I don't, to be honest. I have a throat steamer, but that's about it!
Q - What do you believe has been the best performance of your career so far?
Harry - Probably me and my band's most recent performance at the Kazimier Stockroom. My confidence has grown, especially with the lads with me (they're boss). It's a mad one because I was beating myself up about it afterwards, but seeing videos back, it was sick.
Q - What is the most significant risk you have taken in your career, and what did you learn from it?
Harry - I think quitting my full-time job to go part-time to focus on music more, as my old job wouldn't let me do that. I have never looked back; best decision ever.
Q - Finally, Everton or Liverpool?
Harry - Everton. Up the Toffees!
